Summer Ag Institute Becomes Arizona Agricultural Institute 1.0

When: JUNE 13-16, 2022

Early registration ends March 31st - Apply TODAY!

One day virtual - three days of in-person tours - for more details visit HERE!

The Arizona Agricultural Institute (AAI), formerly known as the Summer Agricultural Institute (SAI) is expanding, to offer educators two events thus the AAI 1.0 and AAI 2.0. The goal is to provide teachers hands-on opportunities to visit farmers, ranchers, researchers, and agricultural operations plus acquire engaging STEM-based lessons to share with students. This new 1.0 and 2.0 format will provide educators two opportunities throughout the year to see more of Arizona's agricultural industries than those that are typically available in the summer.

This year's schedule will include one day of virtual presentations and three days of in-person tours. Each day will provide opportunities to learn more about Arizona's diverse farming and ranching operations and all that is involved to provide us with safe and nutritious food and fiber using sustainable practices. Our goal is to make each day informative and provide valuable lessons and resources that connect AG & STEM as well as highlighting why AG is the original STEM career. The 3-day-in-person event will give you an up-close look at the agricultural industry as you experience a variety of commodity tours.

Join us on Monday, June 13, 2022, as we come together virtually to experience Arizona agriculture. There is no fee for this portion, and all are welcome!

For those of you looking for an immersion experience, be sure to join us Tuesday-Thursday as we travel in person to interact with Arizona farmers, ranchers, researchers, and food processors to understand agriculture and our food system. Interested teachers need to apply. Space is limited for this in-person opportunity.

Selected teachers will be notified by May 16, 2022. While there is no cost to apply, if selected, there is a $75 fee to attend the in-person tours. You MUST attend ALL 3 days of the in-person tours. Teachers who apply by March 31, 2022, and are selected, will save $15!

Professional development hours will be given for those that attend the Monday and/or the 3-day-in-person tours. In addition, UArizona college credit is available for those attending the 3-day in-person tours.
