Students will learn about the water cycle, watersheds, and specifically, the watershed that feeds Springfield, Oregon. After analyzing drought maps, reading news reports, and seeing images and videos, students will realize that drought is a real life concern. Students, as concerned citizens, will create a water collection device, at first on a small scale, and then a true to life water collection system to help re- purpose rainwater in our garden area.

The ICI recognizes the need to provide mentorship to future generations of industry workforce and leaders. Mentorship Week has been established as a first formal step towards developing an ongoing relationship with today's students ranging in age from high school upper classmen through college seniors.

This event is free to industry manufacturers, trade associations, universities, and students. It will be conducted on the ICI's Networking and Event Platform, affording students the opportunity to learn about the casting industry 24 hours per day during the week. Thursday, September 16, 2021 is Industry Day. On Industry Day, exhibiting manufacturers, trade associations and universities are asked to staff their booths from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT to answer student questions.

The Investment Casting Institute is a 501(c)(6) non-profit manufacturer’s trade association, whose primary mission is to promote the investment casting process and members, as well as collecting and disseminating information about the industry and providing education opportunities to members.
